Visual Identity for the Spanish Association of Directors of Photography
With the aim of renewing the AEC’s brand image, updating it in line with new times and unifying it with its current objectives of relaunching and international projection, the Spanish Association of Directors of Photography commissioned Tau Diseño to design its new logo. Its objective was to represent the principles of professionalism of its members and the values of creativity, inclusion and modernity.
The AEC stated in a press release how they were involved in an intense selection process among several creative agencies, to assess the professionals who could meet their needs in an optimal way. A team from the ACS, supported by its board of directors, put all their dedication into defining the creative lines to follow in order to redefine, with the utmost respect and responsibility, the image of an association with more than twenty-five years of history. Thus the image of the ACS has been renewed, inspired by the well-known image of the artist photographer Eadweard Muybridge whose ideas led to the invention of the cinematograph.
For Tau Diseño it was a question, on the one hand, of fulfilling communication objectives, transmitting information with the best possible formal solution and, on the other hand, that the design would help to understand the concepts that the AEC wants to communicate. All this has been brought together in a simple logo in its composition, but powerful in its formal aspects.
